How do I book a family day

Bookings can be made online here. Simply choose your preferred date, venue, and session, then complete the checkout process.

Will I receive confirmation of my booking?

Yes – you’ll receive a confirmation email as soon as your booking is complete. This includes your session details, booking reference, and our contact information

Will I get a reminder before the event?

Absolutely. Around one week before your Family Day, you’ll receive a reminder email with key details such as what to bring, arrival time, and directions.

What if the event I want is fully booked?

Places are limited, and bookings are first come, first served. If a session is full, you can check other available dates or join our mailing list to hear about new sessions as soon as they’re released.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

If you can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your place to another family.

  • Cancellations close to the course date are handled at our discretion.
  • Where possible, we will offer a refund or reschedule your booking, but this may not always be possible at short notice.

What should we bring on the day?

  • Clothing suitable for outdoor activities (layers are best)
  • Waterproof jackets and sturdy footwear
  • Sun protection (hat, sunscreen) or warm accessories depending on the weather
  • A reusable water bottle
  • Any necessary personal items (e.g. medication)

What happens if the weather is bad?

Our sessions run in most weather conditions, rain or shine, so please come prepared with waterproofs. If severe weather means we need to cancel or change the session, we’ll contact you as soon as possible.

Where do we go when we arrive?

Your reminder email will include venue details. Look for Field Studies Council signs at the entrance – staff will be there to greet you. Parking is available on-site, and our team will guide you from the car park to the activity area.

Can I charge my electric vehicle while visiting the centre?

Unfortunately we do not currently have facilities available at our centres for visitors to charge vehicles. If you are arriving in an electric vehicle, we advise you to identify the location of suitable public charging points that are local to the centre you are visiting in advance of your visit.
