It was a truly relaxing but extremely educational weekend and I learned so much about not only bee anatomy, but bee conservation too. It was not only inspired me to take more of an active part in insect surveys and volunteer work, but I am very sure that the knowledge I gained from the course will be useful in my second year at university to contribute to my wider understanding of ecology. I feel I am quite the entomologist now, but I doubt I will have a collection to rival Steven’s anytime soon! I am taking away from this experience hugely helpful lab and fieldwork skills, great memories, and a definite soft spot for bees.
