Tutor had excellent knowledge and experience of the subject and was very accessible and friendly. However, her teaching skills were poor. Tutor spoke very quickly and most of the time rattled through her own key very quickly asking the whole group whether the feature was right or wrong. Whereas it would have helped more if she had at various points given us the opportunity in groups or individually to go through at our own pace. The tutor seemed more concerned to improve her own devised grasses key than ensure that we were making progress understanding keys and using them. Given the many revisions made to her key, which was the key we were given and worked with, the key itself is now not helpful unless one had kept up with the many revisions. There was no attempt to get us to work in pairs or small groups and share understanding and knowledge, although there would have been time to do so. It was a useful learning experience but could have been much better. Unfortunately some grasses were not found.
