The title was misleading as the tutor limited the scope to painting buildings. I would have liked more emphasis on sketching techniques and taking photographs, as the course suggested. I expected more focus on landscapes as we were suroounded by beautiful scenery, mountains, lakes, rivers etc. The approach was very didactic and I would have liked more opportunities to express my own ideas with the tutor guiding me.
I am curious to know why FSC selected this particular tutor for Blencathra as He may have been happier in an urban setting. I did pick up some tips which I can use in the future but it was disappointing not to exploit the wonderful landscapes on the doorstep of Blencathra.
