I have recently moved to this country from North America and, after many years away from the UK, am trying to learn all that I can about this country’s flora and fauna. As a conservation educator who focuses on connecting people with the natural world, particularly those animal species that are sometimes taken for granted or maligned, the prospect of discovering more about spiders and harvestmen interested me very much.
The course far surpassed my expectations. The presenters were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject. Furthermore, the course team was well-organized and welcoming. I enjoyed meeting other wildlife enthusiasts as well. After letting what I had learned sink in a bit, I have found myself looking for spiders and harvestmen in the garden, on walks and in my shed as I practice identifying the variety of species. To be honest, I have always considered myself more of a small mammal person, but believe that I have found a new interest!
I look forward to taking additional courses, and would certainly recommend the experience to others. Thank you.
