A very interesting course. The tutor, Alan Pentecost gave clear presentations and gave us a very thorough introduction to the subject. I found it difficult to use the keys since the whole field of lichenology was new to me and needed some help familiarising myself with use of a microscope. The field trips were good and provided much needed breaks from inside study. However it moved my knowledge of lichens on greatly and I have been able to continue studying them with the help of a more experienced friend.
