Family Friendly Working Options

Where business need and the individual role permit, we offer flexible working options, e.g. part time working; flexi time; home working; job sharing; time off in lieu; unpaid leave; term time hours; and shift work. We also appreciate that an individual’s circumstances might change over time and encourage our employees to discuss any potential issues or needs with us at the earliest possible opportunity. Subject to having 26 weeks or more continuous service with Field Studies Council, you will be able to submit a formal flexible working request to e.g. change your working pattern or hours. Family Friendly Leave

We offer the statutory provision in terms of family friendly leave and pay, e.g. Adoption, Maternity, Paternity and Shared Parental Leave. Parents of children under 18 years of age can apply for up to four weeks’ unpaid parental leave each year to a total of 18 weeks for each child.

In addition, we will grant one day paid dependent care leave per year to assist employees in dealing with emergencies concerning a dependent, e.g. spouse, partner, parent or child. In such circumstances, further unpaid leave may also be authorised.
