Castle Head Field Centre lies in its own extensive grounds between the southern fells of the Lake District and the shores of Morecambe Bay. The Centre has 120 beds and a number of large indoor spaces including 6 workrooms, student common rooms, separate staff common room and a sports hall. Within the 20 hectares of grounds there are a wide variety of habitats, purpose built activity sites and a fully equipped observatory.

As a Field Studies and Activity Centre we offer a wide range of courses, including Cross Curricular and Eco-Adventure at KS2, KS3, GCSE and A level, all of which can be tailored to meet your needs. A level and GCSE courses are also available at the Life Science Centre.

Being within easy reach of an outstanding range of habitats and fieldwork sites we are also an excellent base for self taught groups such as universities wanting to carry out independent fieldwork.

Only 12 miles from Junction 36 on the M6 and approximately 80 miles from both Manchester and Liverpool Castle Head has excellent road links. If travelling by train the station at Grange-over-Sands is only 2 miles from the Centre.
