Christmas is just around the corner and we have plenty of ways to start the festivities and bring the outdoors into your celebrations.

Christmas Crafts

Many of us get creative at this time of year and turn our hand to homemade gifts and decorations and we have a great range of Christmas craft courses inspired by nature for you to choose from.

Our courses are perfect for beginners or the more advanced crafter. Join our experts to learn new skills and create something special for family and friends, or just for you.

Learn how to make your very own Christmas decorations from stained glass, create your own Christmas wreath from natural materials, explore the process of making your own marbled Christmas wrapping paper and so much more.

Christmas Gifts and Cards

If you’re looking for gift inspiration, our range of wildlife gifts includes notebooks, bird feeders and seed bombs which are perfect for nature lovers.

We also have a new range of Christmas cards so you can send festive greetings to your friends and relatives with a card that offers a little more this Christmas.

Family Experiences

This time of year we love spending time with family and friends by catching up, celebrating and making memories. We have a very special visitor coming to some of our field centres this Christmas, so here’s how you can meet him for yourself.

Santa’s Winter Woodland at Amersham

Santa and his elves are visiting Amersham Field Centre in Buckinghamshire to train a new generation of Elf helpers. Explore the enchanted woodland, learn important elf skills, make a Christmas decoration in the elf workshop and meet Santa in his grotto.

Elf School

Our family Elf School experiences are now open for bookings. Join us for a jam-packed weekend of family fun and Christmas magic. Take part in team games, some festive baking and creating your own Christmas decorations from outdoor materials collected on a walk.
You’ll even get the chance to meet the man himself in his grotto.

Nature and Wellbeing

Immerse yourself with the natural world by joining one of our nature experiences this festive season. Ignite your senses along a wildlife walk tuning in to the sights, sounds, smells and texture of nature.

Winter Wellbeing Walk in Devon

Help your winter wellbeing by connecting with nature on a walk through Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve. Slapton Ley is the largest natural lake in south-west England. Although it is only separated from the sea by a narrow shingle bar, it is entirely freshwater. Collect materials as your explore the reserve to make your own natural Christmas wreath.

10 Ways to Reduce Waste this Christmas

With Christmas festivities just around the corner for most of us it’s a time of frenzied shopping whether it’s for turkey and sprouts or gifts for family and friends. But there a few simple things we can do to limit some of our unnecessary waste at this time of year. How many can you try?

However you’re spending this festive season, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from the whole team here at Field Studies Council.
