Introduction to Wildflowers

This course will allow you to explore different habitats, allowing you to start to uncover the variety of wildflower species specific to certain areas allowing you to correctly identify them.

There are around 1,600 species of wildflowers in Britain and Ireland. Many of which are easy to recognise with a bit of practice.

This introductory wildflower course will give learners an opportunity to visit different habitats within a small area and compare the plants seen there. Discover the wonderful diversity of wildflowers and plant life in the different areas of Bushy Park. Be led on an exploratory visit through Bushy Park’s nature reserve and the acid grassland of the open parkland.

Firstly, in a managed nature reserve and then open parkland which is predominantly acid grassland. You will have time to explore your surrounding environment to find some specimens, learning valuable observational and comparative field identification tips.
