FSC have worked with Pearson Edexcel to produce some new fieldwork resources for teachers.

The three short videos and ‘A Guide to Conducting High Quality Fieldwork at GCSE’ are designed to support teachers when planning their next fieldwork trip to ensure high quality fieldwork and positive outcomes for students.

Pre-Fieldwork Planning: Tips for planning a successful field trip

This video offers some tips for planning a successful field trip and designing a fieldwork investigation using the six-step enquiry process.

Primary Fieldwork Skills: Making the most of a day in the field

This video looks at primary field skills and undertaking a field investigation, as well as the importance of sampling, data collection and recording techniques.

Post-Fieldwork: Presentation, analysis, conclusions and evaluation skills

Following the fieldwork investigation students should have the opportunity to reflect on their findings and the validity of their conclusions.
