Base yourself at one of our fantastic locations and enjoy exploring the natural history and landscape of the local area on foot with FSC walking courses and holidays.

To cope with last year’s challenges, more than 21 million adults went for a walk. It’s easy to understand why when research funded by the Economic and Social Research Council has showed that walking regularly in “green” environments leads to better sleep, significantly lower levels of blood pressure and perceived stress.

FSC Walking Courses and Holidays

Man walking in the hills

Join our experienced and engaging tutors on a walking activity break that explores the stunning landscapes around our locations and learn about the natural environment of the local area including its geography, geology, plant and animal life and natural history.

Our Mountain Walking and Navigation courses will aim to provide you with what you need to venture out into upland areas independently and with confidence. Key skills will be taught in a fun and supportive environment, with an emphasis on learning by doing.

Our Secret Hills holidays are more relaxed as we take you to explore the hidden gems of the local area. They are aimed at anyone interested in wildlife, landscape and natural history. You will be exploring safely and enjoyably on foot.

We understand it is difficult to make plans at the moment and that things may change for you before you can join us. To help you book with confidence we will refund any payments you have made for a course if you are unable to come due to Covid-19 government restrictions which prevent you from travelling (such as travel bans or enforced self-isolation).

Ramblers Walking Holidays partnership

We are delighted to work with our partners Ramblers Walking Holidays to offer a number of bespoke holiday options at selected FSC locations.
