Join us for an immersive adult-only evening and morning nature experience exploring the fascinating relationship between bats and moths in Epping Forest.
The session begins with an engaging talk introducing these nocturnal creatures and their remarkable adaptations, followed by a guided bat walk using detectors to listen in on hunting bats as darkness falls. We’ll then set a moth trap on returning to the Centre and leave it overnight. Return the following morning to open the trap and identify the moths caught, discovering their diversity up close. There is a fixed cost, but attendance at both the evening and morning sessions is entirely optional—you’re welcome to join either or both.
Explore our range of nature courses hosted by our engaging tutors and learn from their expertise and knowledge. Our nature experiences are a chance to meet like-minded people, a chance to unwind from everyday life, and a great opportunity to experience the UK’s glorious wildlife and the surrounding countryside of our field centres.
This course is open to participants aged 18 and over only. For under-18s, please contact the centre directly or see our young people courses and activities for families.
