Ben Averis is a consultant botanist who has been using the NVC since 1986. He is the author of Plants and Habitats: an introduction to common plants and their habitats in Britain and Ireland (2013) and a co-author of An illustrated Guide to British Upland Vegetation (JNCC 2004).
