Self-led revision residentials
Our revision residentials provide dedicated time away from the classroom, giving students the space to focus on their studies without the distractions of everyday life. Teachers retain full control over the academic programme, allowing revision sessions to be tailored to the specific needs, priorities and challenges of their students.

We provide the space and catering and we can support your experience, if you want, by leading fun outdoor activities, when a break from revising is needed.
Structured teacher-led revision subject-specific revision, provides students the opportunity to develop effective study habits, revision techniques and exam strategies, building confidence in their ability to recall knowledge, tackle exam questions and perform under assessment conditions. Teachers can ensure that specific areas of challenge are tackled through subject specific teacher-led revision sessions without any other distractions.
Workshops in the course will develop students’ revision strategies and confidence in tackling exam questions, with opportunities to step away from the desk and recharge. Active and outdoor sessions can be built into the programme, helping students maintain focus, boost wellbeing and return to their studies refreshed and ready to learn.

Delivered by experienced Field Studies Council tutors, sessions are designed to reinforce key concepts, improve understanding and develop effective approaches to exam questions. Tutors can adapt learning to the needs of the group, supporting students to consolidate knowledge and identify strategies for successful revision.
Our expert tutors can lead your group throughout the revision residential if you are studying geography, biology, ecology or environmental science. This can free up teachers’ time to support individual students and offer a different voice.
To help students stay engaged and productive, academic sessions can be balanced with opportunities to be active, spend time outdoors and take a break from intensive study. These activities give students time to reset, improve concentration and return to revision with renewed focus.
Workshops throughout the course can also develop revision techniques, memory and recall strategies, and exam skills, helping students become more independent and effective learners. Courses can be tailored to different subjects and delivered in a format that meets your school’s requirements.

Day 1
Arrive 12:00
- Welcome and introduction to the centre and health and safety procedures.
- Show into rooms, with a chance to unpack and make beds.
Teacher-led revision
Active activity
A chance to take a break from revision and develop students’ critical thinking skills through a fun problem-solving session which will encourage creativity, ingenuity and initiative.
Evening
Night walk
This activity will help students to settle into their surroundings and hopefully spot some local nocturnal wildlife. Students will have time to relax refreshing them for the day ahead.
Day 2
Morning and afternoon
Teacher-led revision followed by
Active activity
A chance to blow off steam, and refresh with a physical, energizing activity. The activity on offer will be location dependent.
Evening
Reflective revision study
Using the skills developed on the first day students will address their personal areas of challenge through individual study and revision.
Campfire
This time will be devoted to encouraging students to consolidate their learning and help students to unwind from the day. Students will have time to relax refreshing them for the day ahead.
