Join us as we explore Epping Forest and discover more about the nature and wildlife that lives here.
Discover how to capture the glorious autumn colours and achieve interesting photographs of the season’s woodland flora and fauna. Very often the image we take with our camera doesn’t reflect the same feelings of awe and beauty we felt when viewing the scene. Demystify your camera and find out how to take good close-up pictures using different angles. At the end of the session there will be a chance to see the results and some tips on post-processing to help make a good image great.
Tutor: John Price
John Price has worked as a professional photographer throughout his working life. After a degree at art college he worked in publishing, industry, corporate and for the last 10 years, in conservation as a photographer. His experience includes working with both film and digital photography including design and multimedia. He worked on the 50 Favourite Tree project lead by Countrycare, a division of Epping Forest District Council. Over 4,000 trees have been surveyed and recorded. A book on the project is available in PDF format on the website www.favouritetrees.com which John has designed and photographed. He works with A Vision of Britain CIC developing health and fitness walks, and photographic teaching using video and stills for all ages. Examples of his work can be seen at www.epcotimages.com
FSC want to inspire people to be curious, caring, and passionate about our environment. Our Explore nature and wildlife experiences are open to anyone. The mix of activities will inspire you to find out more about and discover how you can help wildlife on your doorstep. To take part you do not need any experience or any expensive kit, just an enthusiasm for being outside and discovering more about nature. Experts leaders and are happy to share their enthusiasm and encourage you to ask questions.

- Bring a bag to carry personal items whilst outside
- Wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and being based outside for some or all of the day
- When outside, expect to be walking through easy terrain, sometimes on small unsurfaced (and muddy) paths.
