Building Independence and Skills in A Level Geographers

This event has since taken place but you can still purchase the recordings. We will send you both of the pathways via email.

We are excited to announce that FSC is hosting an e-conference to support Geography Teachers build independence and skills with their students, especially those who will be completing their NEA this summer or during the next academic year.  We are delighted to have a number of great speakers for a variety of sessions.

The conference will have 2 pathways with a maximum of 100 places on each.

The Setting Foundations pathway is for beginning teachers or for those teachers who feel less confident managing the Independent Investigation within their schools.

The Broadening Impact pathway is for teachers who are confident in delivering the basics of the skills required for Independent Investigation but want to increase the impact of the NEA for their students.

It’s not possible to swap between pathways on the day but don’t worry whatever pathway you choose you will receive recordings and resources from the sessions on the other pathway. We will also be offering a series of free 1 hour workshops for students the following week which aim to build skills and prepare students to tackle their Independent Investigations at A Level.

Speakers from FSC, GA, ESRI, Bilborough College and University of Hull.

  • Students doing fieldwork at the coast
  • a group of students standing infront of freshwater
  • Three students in an urban area
