This 1-day beginner to intermediate course will guide you in how to tackle the challenging group of the Asteraceae.

The Asteraceae or Daisy family is the largest family in the world, with many similar looking genera and species. Within the UK flora it is the biggest family with over 400 species. Firstly, separating out the Asteraceae into broad groups, Daisies, Dandelions and Thistles, before working to identify them to genus and species level.

Mark Duffell has had a lifetime interest in plants, gaining the RHS Diploma in Horticulture and completing an MSc in Biological Recording. He now runs Arvensis Ecology, splitting his time between conducting botanical surveys and teaching botanical identification and survey techniques to undergraduate and postgraduate students, consultancies and environmental organisations.
