Summer Wildlife

Garden wildlife bundle

May and June are fantastic months for getting outside to explore nature. Almost every week brings something new to see, as the days get longer and the weather warms up. Our summer wildlife bundle features over 100 different insects for you to find this summer, in gardens, the countryside and woodland.

Garden bugs and beasties guide

Do moths only fly at night? Can you tell the difference between a shieldbug and a froghopper? Do the spots on a ladybird tell us its age? Step into your garden and take a closer look among the flowers, grasses and plant pots. You’ll discover a hidden world of tiny creatures waiting to be found.

  • Colour identification guide to the main minbeast groups of gardens
  • Small creatures can turn up almost anywhere, so the guide shows you just where to look

Ladybirds guide

Ladybirds are widespread, and can be found throughout the year.

  • Identification guide to adults of all 26 conspicuous ladybirds in Britain and Ireland
  • Beautiful colour paintings show the key colours and patterns to look for when identifying ladybirds

Butterflies guide

Making a butterfly list is a great first step into wildlife identification. Some are easy to identify. But for others you might need to take a closer look. Is that a Small White or a Large White eating your cabbages? Is that a Common Blue or a Holly Blue fluttering along the hedge?

  • Enables speedy identification of live butterflies outside
  • Life-size colour paintings of each butterfly by Richard Lewington, with similar-looking butterflies are close to each other for easy comparison

WildID guides measure 25 x 18 cm when folded up and are lightweight enough to pop into your bag when heading outside. All guides are laminated to protect against moisture and mud, and are easy to wipe clean.
