This one day course offers an opportunity to learn the basics skills required to produce a wearable piece (brooch/pendant/bracelet) of bobbin lace with a modern feel. The course will include preparing the bobbins with thread and how to start the pattern. Instructions for the stitch designs required to work the lace pattern. Tutor support to work and complete the piece of lace. Then finally mounting the finished piece on to a brooch pin, pendant or bracelet.

If you have attended my course before there will be a follow-on pattern available on the day.

Tutor: Linda Haylock

Linda was first inspired by bobbin lace in the early 1980's when she watched a demonstration at a local agricultural show and started learning how to make Torchon bobbin lace at an adult education evening class in 1998. In 2002, Linda was approached by a local group of ladies to teach them and now has 2 other evening classes running. Her passion is continental lace as there is more freedom in the lace with regard to colour, texture and design. Annually, for the last 9 years, she has visited the Czech Republic to attend a 7 day design course in bobbin lace to gain more skills in pattern design and Czech techniques.
