The brilliant Young Darwin Scholarship is back for 2021. We are looking for young people with a real interest in the natural world to benefit from heavily subsidised visits to our centres, along with ongoing support and opportunities to help as they develop their study and career choices.

FSC pay for 90% of the costs of the Young Darwin Scholarship, as part of our charitable mission to engage and connect everyone with the outdoors.

We have been running the Scholarship since 2012, but are expanding it this year to reach more people, and offer a choice of experiences to a wider age range of 16-25.

Previous participants have benefited so much from their Scholarship experience:

I cannot highlight how much of a wonderful and educational experience the scholarship was. It has provided me with so much and was an experience I won’t ever forget. It is worth taking the time to apply because if you succeed, you will be rewarded by meeting a bunch of inspiring experts, such great people!

As well as enhancing my data recording skills and my ability to identify a whole range of wildlife, the beginning of the scholarship has taught me how to make the most out of being a naturalist, and I only anticipate how it will help me in the future with a myriad of opportunities to come

Philip Turvil, Head of Eco Business said: “Reaching young people and growing the next generation of ‘Darwins’ is so important to FSC. This Scholarship opportunity offers a real chance to develop skills and benefit from spending time with other young people with a shared in interest in the natural world. Our previous participants have formed friendships and support networks which have been invaluable.”

Applications close on 27th June 2021 so make sure you apply in plenty of time to be part of our 2021 experience.
