Set around Field Studies Council centres, this retreat invites you to slow down, reconnect with nature and restore balance. Take your wellbeing into your own hands and reconnect with what truly matters.
What to expect
Guided by experienced practitioners, you’ll explore woodland and wild spaces through gentle movement, mindful practices and hands-on outdoor skills. From forest bathing and sunrise meditation to bushcraft, foraging and campfire cooking, each activity supports physical wellbeing and emotional renewal. Plant‑based meals and fireside time create space for conversation, reflection and community, free from screens
Whether you’re journalling beneath the stars, walking through changing landscapes, or crafting with natural materials, this retreat offers a nurturing blend of structure and freedom. You’ll leave grounded, inspired and re‑energised, with new skills, fresh perspectives and a lasting connection to nature.

Our nature experiences are a chance to meet like-minded people, a chance to unwind from everyday life, and a great opportunity to experience the UK’s glorious wildlife and the surrounding countryside of our field centres.
This course is open to participants aged 18 and over only. For under-18s, please contact the centre directly or see our young people courses and activities for families.
Example Timetable
Day 1
Arrival from 4pm onwards.
Afternoon
- Welcome to centre and shown into your accommodation to settle in.
- The wonders of woodland. Forest bathing and connection to nature. Explore beautiful woodlands using senses and grounding techniques.
Evening meal - Plant-based meal eaten as a group, time for introductions and conversation away from screens.
Evening
- Creative natural crafts. Natural paper making, landscape art or natural dyes.
Day 2
Morning
- Optional sunrise nature meditation
- Breakfast - Continental buffet style breakfast to be eaten inside or out.
- Outdoor yoga. Led by a qualified instructor. Combine the benefits of nature and yoga in this expert led session.
- Reset with a refreshment and or shower.
- Nature immersion and foraging walk. Collect hedgerow plants and fruits to contribute to lunch.
Lunch - Outdoor lunch with inspiration from our foraged finds.
Afternoon
- Bushcraft and survival skills. Fire lighting, shelters, knots and water collection and filtering
Evening meal - Wild cooking around the campfire or outdoor pizza oven. Reflective practice around the campfire with hearty food and heartfelt discussion.
Evening
- Nature journaling workshop. Learn to use multi-media techniques to journal your thoughts, feelings and impressions of the weekend.
- Optional self-led star gazing session, bat watching.
Day 3
Morning
Breakfast - Cooked breakfast to start the day
- Nature hike. Explore nature and landscape and physically challenge yourself in a new environment.
Lunch - Packed lunch on the hike.
Afternoon
- On return to centre undertake group closing ritual to share feelings and take aways.
