How we run in person natural history courses

We offer a range of in-person Natural History courses suitable for all levels of knowledge, hosted at our fantastic network of Field Studies Council Centres and partner venues across the UK. You can start your journey with us at introductory level, working up to beginner, intermediate and finally advanced in a huge variety of natural history topics, including marine mammals, terrestrial mammals, birds, invertebrates, botany, fungi, lichens, trees and more!

What to expect from an in-person natural history course

Our in-person courses take place at a range of fantastic venues chosen for their accessibility to people, suitable habitats and species.

The days are delivered by our engaging, passionate, expert tutors and packed with well structured, engaging learning content, tailored to learners’ needs. There is always a good balance of indoor theory and practical experience out in the field. It is all about the tuition. Don’t forget to bring your packed lunch and a flask as catering is not standard across our courses given the range of locations in which we operate.

Alongside our scheduled programme of in-person courses we can also cater for group bookings of any Field Studies Council natural history course on-demand at a time and venue to suit your needs. Furthermore, we can work with our network of tutors to create and deliver bespoke in-person courses.
