I started this course terrified at how difficult mosses were, but by the Monday morning I could happily complete the id test and go on to id mosses on my own.

Great course for lots of those difficult groups. We covered sedges, rushes, grasses, ferns, sorbus, learnt to use Poland and much more. Seriously recommend this for course.

OUr teacher is an extremely talented artist but the title is somewhat misleading because we could have been copying anything ! not just portraits ! . However, it was an absorbing Course but would have liked a bit more tuition.

A wonderful course, taught by knowledgeable and imaginative tutor. Good balance of fieldwork and classroom. Flatford Mill’s comfortable accommodation and good food were additional pleasures.

The course was really excellent. Our tutor was great – very attentive, patient and encouraging to beginners and advanced students alike. The Centre and accommodation were very suitable. However the food was rather disappointing in terms of variety, quality and vegetarian options.

I had a wonderful weekend at Juniper Hall. Our tutor was brilliant – very inclusive with everyone, very knowledgeable and entertaining about fungi facts and folklore. He has taught me to be more methodical and patient with identification. There was some anxiety over accommodation as I did not know where…
