A very well thought out course with plenty of field work. Very enjoyable. Ros is an excellent tutor. Location was excellent and the facilities and food good.

A good opportunity to become familiar with specialist chalk and limestone grassland moths in a beautiful setting. Emptying moth traps was a good way to collect specimens for later identification or review. Dave provided a wealth of tips and advice to help us arrive at a decision before confirming or…

Very interesting subject, Neil as himself makes the course unique. Explained, & took us to see, a bit about each of the landscape, geology, agriculture, machinery, vehicles, ancient buildings, habitats, animals, plant, & old folks. He’d prepared many special country places to visit, that the public can’t normally…

Bonus was the evening walks in perfect summer weather. Group was very friendly and we had fun tackling the challenges presented…

A very interesting course. The tutor, Alan Pentecost gave clear presentations and gave us a very thorough introduction to the subject. I found it difficult to use the keys since the whole field of lichenology was new to me and needed some help familiarising myself with use of a microscope.

I had done some reading in advance and found the material difficult to grasp but it was clearly explained by Mark and I made much more progress than expected.
