The leader was very knowledgeable but an extremely poor communicator and disorganised. He was inaudible and when asked to speak up just suggested that the information was passed to the rest of the group. Difficult as it was often impossible to hear him initially and I have good hearing.

The course was very good and the explanations on the identification of fern species were precise and helpful. The Tutor was friendly and of high knowledge. I was quite disappointed that the course which was meant to last for two days only had ennough sites to see for one…

Excellent course. Dave(the tutor) was 110% committed to giving the best experience to the attendees and helping improve their identification skills.

A really interesting and enjoyable course. David Brown, our course tutor, paces the course well and balances moth identification with trips out into the local area to search for butterflies and day flying moths to make a really enjoyable course. His extensive knowledge of Lepidoptera as well as local sources…

Excellent course, busy and interesting. Anna and Christina were really knowledgable and friendly hosts who lead us through a variety of different, well gauged activities that increased our understanding of the world about us. From beach combing and crabbing, through to firelighting and lantern making we enjoyed spending time as…

A comprehensive course, with lots of information squeezed in but plenty of time to practice newly obtained knowledge. Tutor was excellent, very knowledgeable, patient and created a friendly and relaxed environment to learn in. Venue was welcoming, easy to get to and well situated. Would recommend to anyone looking to…

Amazing course, offering a brilliant first glance, into the appropriate means of identification, for these seemingly difficult groups of plants. Tuition exceptional; Mark Duffel’s knowledge and enthusiasm for botany is both infectious and authoritative, allowing any lapses in understanding to be quickly rectified. Facilities outstanding, and both hospitality and cuisine…

Great intro. Loved the relaxed style. I was disappointed no hand-outs, and lack of structure to the day, but can forgive that as it was a wonderful summer’s guided walk around Regents Park.

Very comfortable and quiet room and the usual high standard of catering. Very helpful staff. David Webb is a very good tutor. We had a demo twice a day, one in the evening as prep for the following day’s visit and one on arrival at the venue in a coach…
