Exceptional insight as to the possibilities of extreme close up photography and focus stacking. Such an opportunity to learn of these specialised techniques with an excellent tutor in well equipped labs.. Moth trap, pond dipping, interactive projector system. Oh! and comfortable accommodation and excellent food and service.

Excellent teaching! What a fantastic week of very informative well directed learning in a very friendly and amenable environment. I can’t recommend this course highly enough for anyone interested in Botanical Illustration.

Excellent tuition – a most enjoyable and productive course. My only issues would be that it was disappointing not to have a course tablenon dining room set asid and that there was never enough coffee made at breakfast or dinner…

Most enjoyable course – Hilary Gibson is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor. Fellow course members, as usual, good company. Accommodation, Food all at a very high standard. The centre staff were all very cheerful and helpful. Will come again!…

Really good to start the week with Hilary Gibson demonstrating the basic of colour, wash, pen and perspective and then to apply them to our paintings outdoors. Very good basis and warm-up for the Expressive watercolour which followed.

Really interesting to build on the earlier Summer Painting course where we consolidated the basics and then on this course to explore all the different techniques beyond the basics, seeing all the different effects through Hilary Gibson’s demonstrations of about 15 ways of making our paintings have more depth, texture…

It was the best week ever – just painting all day with no other responsibilities. Bliss!…

The 3 day course was good. We were non residential but the facilities seemed good. Only criticism was lack of information about the timetabling of the course. For example the advance information only included reference to the !7:30 briefing by the centre manager there was no reference to the fact…
