The ‘Secret Hills’ of Shropshire are a place you might not have thought to visit! This relaxed five day course will begin to explore this fantastic area and is aimed at anyone interested in wildlife, landscape and history. Shropshire is a county with a wide range of habitats and wonderful landscapes, steeped in history and legend. Daily excursions, involving walks of between 1-5 miles, will explore the wildlife and history of the centre’s most inspiring field sites.
There will be opportunities to identify birds, plants and insects, all the while surrounded by beautiful scenery. Some of the evenings will be spent investigating the centre’s nightlife through badger watching, moth trapping and small mammal surveys while others might be spent visiting local viewpoints or tasting the local wines. A visit to Shrewsbury, the county town and birthplace of Charles Darwin, will conclude the course on the final morning.

Example Timetable
Please arrive at the Centre between 15:00pm and 17:00pm on the first day of your course in good time for a welcome introduction and evening meal usually 18.30pm, after which the course commences with a short evening session.
