What is the Digital Hub Plus?
The Digital Hub Plus is a comprehensive bank of online teaching resources. We have created it to support the teaching of fieldwork content in secondary schools for Geography, Biology and Environmental Science.
Resources are based in the learning platform Moodle and are easy to access and use, helping bring fieldwork topics to life.
We have worked hard to update the content from our original Digital Hub, which was previously accessed by paid subscription. We recognise the increasing pressures on schools and as an environmental education charity, giving every student the opportunity to experience outdoor learning and first-hand fieldwork is our goal.
We are offering free access this academic year to support teachers and schools in delivering fieldwork content.
What does it cover?
You will find accessible, student-friendly resources for fieldwork topics required for the main exam boards in 14-18 geography and 16-18 biology and environmental science, plus teacher CPD content.
Find resources grouped by topic for ready-to-go lessons including videos presented in the field by our experienced tutors, printable and downloadable worksheets and GIS story maps.
The Digital Hub Plus helps to:
- develop students’ investigation/fieldwork skills
- introduce students to a new fieldwork technique
- enhance students’ deep thinking in fieldwork design
- build student confidence and subject knowledge around fieldwork topics
- consolidate and reflect before and after planned fieldwork
