Expand and share your tree knowledge in 2024!
If you’re aged 12-30* or a parent, teacher, employer, or community/faith group leader engaging this age group, you can register for free tree guides for your city.
Our education charity has thousands of easy-to-use guides for people to use and share with others where they live, study, and work. The identification guides will also feature city trails and ways to enjoy trees in Glasgow and Bradford, either alone or with others.
No experience is needed to use the guides, just curiosity and a keen eye! Group leaders will receive multiple guides to use with other people.
Supplies of guides are limited and allocated according to our T&Cs.

Each tree guide is co-made with people in Glasgow and Bradford and tailored to each city.
You’ll be part of a community of like-minded people starting to study trees and help others through their family and groups.
Each guide is a colourful and splash-proof chart which feels great to hold and folds flat to fit into a large pocket or bag. Each guide is filled with drawings or photos created by enthusiasts and experts.
As well as guides in the post, your household or group will receive ideas by email for finding trees and volunteer and career opportunities to help trees and protect the natural environment.
We allocate tree guides based on target audience and availability as per our grant funding. T&Cs apply. We collect information to help our charity and funders know who we’re reaching.

Who are you again?
The tree guides are from the UK’s leading publisher of wildlife ID guides and education charity, the Field Studies Council.
We have guides to share thanks to this exciting project led by Trees for Cities that aims to engage 20,000 young people with trees in Glasgow and Bradford. This project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
We believe that every tree makes a difference. All the trees in our streets, gardens and towns play an important role in our ecosystem.
