The ‘Secret Hills’ of the Lake District are perhaps a place you haven’t previously thought to visit.

This relaxed course will begin to explore the hidden gems of the fantastic local area. It is aimed at anyone interested in wildlife, landscape and natural history and exploring it safely and enjoyably on foot.

Daily excursions, involving short walks, will explore the wildlife and history of the centre’s most inspiring field sites. There will be opportunities to identify birds, plants and insects, all whilst surrounded by beautiful scenery.  The leisurely pace will provide the chance to enjoy views of dramatic scenery, with time for sketching, photography or other interests as desired and our experienced tutors will be sharing their knowledge about the natural history of the area

The walking level of this break is level 2 which means there will be 3 to 8 miles of brisker walking on any one day, some hill climbs possible. Some regular exercise before the course is recommended, especially if you do not walk these distances regularly.
